Titan Company Limited, Bengaluru
During my six-month internship at Titan Company Limited, Bengaluru, I had the opportunity to work with the Central Technology Services Team, contributing to the development and prototyping of smart wearables. My role primarily involved writing driver code from scratch to enable and enhance functionalities in Titan EyeX smart eyewear and Titan smartwatches. From calibrating DACs for auto-focal lenses to interfacing temperature sensors and analog front ends (AFEs), every task pushed me to dive deeper into embedded systems and low-level firmware development. One of the most exciting aspects was implementing motion recognition using EdgeAI, which gave me hands-on exposure to TinyML and edge computing.
Beyond coding, I actively participated in research and development, exploring innovative ideas to enhance Titan’s wearable products. Writing custom libraries for various applications refined my understanding of software architecture, data manipulation, and code optimization. I also gained exposure to Nordic Semiconductor platforms, deepening my knowledge of low-power wireless communication. This experience strengthened my ability to troubleshoot resource-constrained challenges, reinforcing adaptability in real-world product development. Seeing my code power real consumer products was incredibly rewarding and further fueled my passion for building impactful embedded solutions.
This internship was a transformative learning experience, giving me a firsthand look at end-to-end product development in a fast-paced industrial setting. I gained a broader perspective on how ideas evolve from concept to production, particularly in the rapidly growing smart wearables industry. It also emphasized the importance of balancing hardware constraints with software efficiency—a skill I continue to refine in my journey as a full-stack embedded engineer.
