Bridging Innovation and Healthcare at IISc
Joining the UTSAAH Lab at IISc marked the start of an exciting journey in developing a patented adaptive stimulation device. Working closely with Prof. Manish Arora, I had the opportunity to transform an idea into a functional prototype, refining it through rigorous iterations. From designing real-time filtering algorithms on STM32 to optimizing BLE transmission for power efficiency, every challenge deepened my understanding of system design and performance trade-offs. Ensuring compliance with IEC62304 medical-grade software standards further strengthened my grasp of regulatory considerations in healthcare technology.
Beyond the technical aspects, this experience exposed me to the entire product development lifecycle, from hardware selection to firmware optimization and clinical validation. Collaborating with experts across engineering, healthcare, and design helped me understand best practices while navigating common pitfalls in medical device development. Each phase has been a stepping stone, reinforcing my passion for bridging hardware and software to create impactful solutions—and the journey is far from over.
